A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid year, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, comprising in Halle in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had prompted some to doubt if his ability to play at the top level was concluded.
But the player has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play positively, supported by an better serving game.
He recovered from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the concluding five points to go ahead.
The competitors traded break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his initial professional title, took control to push for a third set.
Moutet rescued 4 early-game chances in a tight third set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned victory with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
